UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced that it is operating flights todeliver 1.7 million face masks made by SanMar, a leading textileproducer. UPS is honored to be a part of SanMar’s extraordinarynational Coronavirus response.
SanMar converted its clothing production facilities in Honduras andTennessee to support protective mask production and distribution.SanMar reached out to UPS and the company moved quickly to providesupply chain and global shipping services for each phase of thecollaboration.

“We knew immediately that SanMar should be part of this effort as aresult of our ability to make and sew textiles here in the U.S aswell as in Central America,” said Renton Leversedge, Chief CustomerOfficer for SanMar. “We have manufacturing expertise and we havescale, which enables us to take part in this very importantwork.”
Since the program began at the end of March, SanMar hasmanufactured more than 100,000 masks at its Tennessee productionfacility. When the masks are completed, UPS will ship thelife-saving cargo to healthcare providers throughout the U.S.
